Today Wednesday soloist class student Emil Gryesten-Jensen receives the big grant from Harby Foundation of 250,000 DKKR for promising young artists. The scholarship will be awarded at a concert in Tivoli in Copenhagen.

Emil Gryesten-Jensen played his first solo concert at age 15 and has since participated in and partly won numerous piano competitions, also abroad. He has spent a great part of his study years at the Sibelius Academy in Finland.

In connection with the award Emil was interviewed in the DR radio program P4 Østjyllland Afternoon yesterday, Tuesday. Listen to the feature here (in Danish, about 2 hours and 9 minutes after the beginning).

The Harby scholarship is awarded annually to two promising talents. The second of this year's recipients is violist Asbjørn Nørgaard, who made his debut from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen last year. The concert in Tivoli begins at 7:30 pm. The two recipients plays with an orchestra consisting of students from the music academies in Aarhus and Copenhagen.
