• Children chooses music for children

    "Anna Spejlæg" and her music orchestra has today Wednesday won the competition to be the academy's contribution at the "Musik I tide"-festival in Næstved to October. More than 100 children from a variety of 4-classes in Aarhus was Wednesday morning visiting the concert to select the ensemble, which is hereby also secured a tour to a number of Danish schools in spring 2014.

    The organisation Levende Musik i Skolen (LMS), in collaboration with Aarhus Municipality and the Royal Academy of Music is behind the competition. A joint panel from the LMS and the Academy have made the final choice, but thye looked at wich ensemble received the most votes from the large children's audience.

    The Academy is also as a partner when LMS biannual "Musik I tide" showcase, where a large number of professional ensembles and bands present themselves in a variety of mini-concerts in late September / early October 2014, in the Concert Hall Aarhus. On the basis of both the festival and showcases schools and municipalities from across the country are selecting what bands or ensembles, they want a visit from at the spring school concerts.
