One of Denmark's biggest honorary prizes, Carl Nielsen & Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen's Legacy, this year will be awarded to four recipients. One of them is composer student in the Academy's soloist class, Line Tjørnhøj. The award recipients each receive 750,000 DKK. The prize will be handed over at a concert in the Royal Danish Music Conservatory's concert hall in Copenhagen on 9 December. At the event Danmarks Underholdningsorkester will play the work "Agony" by Line Tjørnhøj.

The press release from the legacy states, among other things: "Line Tjørnhøj develops highly expressive musical expressions for tense moral and social dilemmas. In this way, Tjørnhøj literally gives a voice to taboo figures and minds."

The other prize recipients are: solo flutist Ulla Miilmann, Nightingale String Quartet and composer Birgitte Alsted. Alsted is RAMA Alumne.
