• New violin professor

    The Danish-Chinese violinist Mo Yi has been appointed as a violin professor at the Academy. It is an experienced musician and music teacher who will now be head of violin education at the Academy. Mo Yi joined Randers Chamber Orchestra as 1st solo violinist in 2010 and has massive concert activity as soloist and chamber musician in Europe, Ukraine, Russia and China.

    Mo Yi teaches at the Academy since 2013, from 2015 as ass. professor. Since 2014, Mo Yi also is a visiting professor at "Universität der Künste Berlin", where she has been affiliated since 2004. Before then, Mo Yi was a lecturer at "Musikhochschule Lübeck" and at the “Central Conservatory of Music” in Beijing. She is also a sought after teacher at master classes in Europe, Israel and Asia.

    Mo Yi was born in Wuhan, China, and received his first violin education at the age of five. She received her Master’s Degree in Beijing with the highest distinction. In 2000 a scholarship brought Mo Yi to Germany, where she studied with Prof. Nora Chatain in Lübeck. In addition, she studied historical performance and baroque violin with leading specialists in the field.
