From Sunday 9 to Tuesday 11 April, Aarhus is host for the Nordic Percussion Festival. The festival present’s three concerts, one each day, each with its own focuses. At the first concert, the focus is on listening to new instruments; at the second concert focus is on the modern "groove"; and the final concert focuses on harmony between percussion and saxophones.

Nordic Percussion Festival is held every second year in Aarhus. The Academy’s percussion students are playing and they choose the repertoire, along with students from other Nordic music academies. Thus the festival also is an exchange between classical percussion students from the Nordic countries. The festival is headed by Associate Professor Henrik Knarborg Larsen from the Academy.
