Yesterday, Monday 20 March, four Academy ensembles competed on the right to be part of LMS’ (Live Music in Schools) offer to the country's primary schools in 2017/18. They played for a hall full of schoolchildren and a jury with representatives from both LMS and the Academy.

Winner was the quartet PUST, with singer Gry Colding in the front. The band plays pop music that conveys political dilemmas and philosophical themes for students in the eldest classes.

"They were really talented musically and had a good attitude and contact with the audience. Their concert was well prepared, and they had a perfect balance between playing music and communicate with the pupils," Ebbe Høyrup, director of LMS, says.

"The competition and cooperation between LMS and the Academy is important because coming musicians through this will gain insight into a new segment and get a sense of what is required to communicate with a young audience, and also that there is a high level of professionalism behind school concerts .All four ensembles receive feedback on their concerts, so they also learn from the competition and can develop," Ebbe Høyrup adds.
