• One organ - six RAMA organists

    6th of March 2017 · tags:

On Thursday 9 March there is a gala concert in Galten Church, between Aarhus and Silkeborg, where six organists, all associated with the Academy, play at the newly restored organ. The concert marks the release of a new CD recorded at the organ by the six organists, and it is a unique opportunity to hear some of the country's most talented organists at one and the same concert.

The idea behind both the CD and the concert is to give six organists free hands at the same organ. The result are six very different and very personal bid on how to make music on the organ, where the repertoire is spanning over 400 years and includes everything from refined compositions to spontaneous improvisation.

Galten organist Lars Rosenlund Nørremark who is behind the project, is playing on the CD and also teaches at the Academy. The same does Professor Ulrik Spang-Hanssen, cathedral organist Kristian Krogsøe and organists Lars Colding Wolf and Morten Ladehoff. Furthermore contributing is Anders Grankvist, 2. organist at the Odense Cathedral and former student at the Academy.
