• New Honorary professor

    On Thursday 10 November, French organist Eric Lebrun was appointed Honorary Professor at the Academy after the opening concert at Aarhus Symphonic Organ Festival 2016.

    Lebrun is an internationally recognised concert artist at the highest level and also a composer of more than 50 different compositions. He also is organist at the church of Saint Antoine des Quinze-Vingts in Paris and Professor at the Conservatory of Saint-Maur-des-Fosses. He gives regular master classes abroad, e.g. at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

    Academy Professor Ulrik Spang-Hanssen says that Lebrun represents the first line of the generation after a number of large and important French organist / composers such as Charles-Marie Widor, Maurice Duruflé and Gaston Litaize. Through Lebrun the Academy students comes in direct contact with the great French organ tradition.
