Vocal student Mary Jean Brødsgaard More has been selected as one out of 24 young jazz talents from around the world to participate in two weeks free workshop at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in New York. The prestigious Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead performance and composing project runs from 23 March to 3 April. The project defines itself as: "... discovering and presenting the next generation of jazz greats."

Betty Carter was one of her generation's greatest jazz singers and started this international talent development project in 1988. At the workshop, the participants will work with a number of the greatest jazz names.

In addition to learning a lot Mary Jean hopes to get some good contacts in USA. She is half American and also has musically strong roots in American music. Briefly after returning she can be experienced at the Academy’s RAMA Festival 11 April in Aarhus.
