• Soundpainting-inventor to Aalborg

    5th of November 2014 · tags:

Soundpainting is a sign system with over 1200 characters for instruction of singers, instrumentalists, actors and dancers - while they are active on stage. Thus the music is composed live in the concert situation.

Soundpainting has existed since 1974 and has been continuously developed by its inventor Walter Thompson, who today has almost cult status in experimental music circles. The method is practiced by a number of conductors who was trained by Thompson.

Walther Thompson visits the Academy in Aalborg 9 and 10 November, where he leads a concert with MidtVest Girls Choir and gives a master class for Academy staff and students. Read more (in Danish).
