• Massive mentions of nordic music prize

    Last week Academy lecturer in composition Simon Steen-Andersen received the large and prestigious Nordic Council Music Prize of 350,000 kr. for his work Blach Box Music. Besides a greeting from the Minister of Culture the award has given massive mentions in the Danish press.

    Several of the mentions also draw lines backwards in Steen-Andersen's universe. For example, Politiken writes: "At the debut concert in 2006 one could easily feel the experience from his student days at one of the most trendsetting, hardcore modernists in Germany, Mathias Spahlinger. But also that here was a composer who would go beyond the theories and tone rows and captivate the audience."
