Piano/Keyboard

As a Piano student at the Academy, you will become part of a vibrant and diverse study environment where you will participate in cross-disciplinary projects at the Academy and elsewhere in addition to main subject tuition and other elementary subjects. You will work closely with your fellow students, expanding your network and getting fresh inspiration.

Piano tuition

During main subject tuition, you will learn all aspects of the discipline, from traditional jazz/pop piano tuition focusing on playing technique, groove technique, knowledge of styles, and piano roles to contemporary improvisational music.

Keyboard tuition focuses on keyboard performance in live and studio production contexts and includes tuition on DAW systems, sequencer platforms, and programming plugins as well as vintage keyboards such as Hammond organ, Fender Rhodes, Clavinet etc.

In addition to one-on-one tuition, you will participate in instrument class tuition and receive guidance and evaluation in connection with projects/concerts and ensemble playing situations.
