    Last week the Danish world scene celebrated Danish Music Awards World at Copenhagen Jazz House. Several of the winners at this year's awards has a recent history at the Academy.

    Trumpet player Emil Jensen won the award Best World Composer along with the three other musicians in the band Traveling Tribes. Emil joint the first class (2010-12) of the new master's program in global music GLOMAS. Currently he is working on a CD project with his own compositions inspired by Indonesian gamelan music.

    The award for Best World Track was given to the Danish/Turkish band Hudna, wich consists a.o.of two former rhythmic students and a former teacher at the Academy (Søren Bigum, Yossi Karutchi and Perry Stenbeck). In Hudna three different religions and three different musical cultures meets.
