• Open masterclass with Zapolski

    Alexandre Zapolski gives masterclass for the Academy's violin students Friday and Saturday the 18th and 19 October at the Academy of Music in Aarhus. The masterclass is open to the public – Friday 12:00 to 19:00, Saturday 9:00-16:00.

    Ukrainian-born Alexandre Zapolski has since the early 90s been a central player at the Danish music scene, for instance as the founder of the acclaimed Zapolski Quartet . Alongside his life as a professional musician in DR Symphony Orchestra a.o. he has always had extensive educational activities at all levels.

    In 1993 he started a children's string orchestra at Brøndby Music School. Today he has his own string academy at the Copenhagen School of Music: Zapolski Strings. He also teaches at the MGK and at academy level. In 2011 Zapolski reciewd the great Jacob Gade award for his work with children and young people.

    From autumn 2013, Alexandre Zapolski is associated with the new team of violin teacher at the Royal Academy of Music. His contribution consists in holding a series of master classes.
