• First concert with new Academy-ensemble

    30th of September 2013 · tags:

The Royal Academy has a number of skilled windplayers and percussionists. So now the Academy has established "RAMA Symphonic Wind Band".

The orchestra plays its first concert on Saturday 5 October at 17:00 in the Symphonic Hall, Concert Hall Aarhus. Here visitors can experience the new ensemble - and also a couple of the teachers as soloists: Organ Professor Ulrik Spang-Hanssen is soloist in Percy Grainger's The Power Of Rome and The Christian Heart, and saxophone teacher and Associate Professor Claus Olesen is the soloist in David Maslankas 42 minutes long Saxophone Concert. This is the first Danish performance of Maslankas work.

Conducter is prof. Niels-Ole Bo Johansen.

There is free admission to the concert.
