Cello student Malthe Volfing Højager got a few nice words when the world's leading international string magazine - The Strad - in its latest issue gave a short but nice review of this year's "New Music for Strings Festival" in June in New York.

Together with the festival's Danish-American organizer, violinist Anne Sophie Andersen, Malthe played the work "Study for string instrument # 1" by the Academy's composer teacher Simon Steen-Andersen. The reviewer writes that the work "... is filled with unison rhythms and bowing, using a flood of glissandos, which the duo precisely executed".

The festival was held for the second time; the first time last year was in Aarhus. It is organized in collaboration between the Academy and Stony Brook University in N.Y.
