Ars Electronica Festival is the largest international event for media art. Every year it is being held in Linz, Austria, with up to 100,000 visitors. This year's festival takes place from 7. to 11. September under the main theme: Artificial Intelligence - Das andere Ich.

This year academy lecturer Christian Skjødt from the Electronic Sound and Music program in Aalborg is participating with a sound installation at the festival: "Æter" - a work built of copper antennas, electronics, subwoofers, racks and wires. The sound installation is set in a 70m long passage in an atomic bunker under a former post-sorting center, which now functions as the main frame around the festival.

The antennas and analogue electronic circuits transform the waves in the air into low frequency audio material. Æter "listen" to both the surroundings - nature, technology and visitors - and to its own electromagnetic radiation. The work is in constant change and invites to expand our perception of the world and our own perception apparatus.
