• Jazz Award for Chr. Vuust

    Yesterday, Sunday, “Gaffelprisen” was handed over to ass. professor in saxophone at the Academy Christian Vuust at a concert in Kunsthal Aarhus. Aarhus Jazz Society is behind the price that has now being awarded for the 37th time. In addition to the honor the award includes a tuning fork and a check for 10,000 DK Kr. this year sponsored by the Danish Musicians' Union, Aarhus. Christian Vuust received the award for his longstanding efforts for jazz music as a musician and a music entrepreneur, most recently with the notable releases "Urban Hymn" and "Storytelling", produced with American musicians.

    "For Vuust a publication is not only a recording but a project including a book with lyrics, the story behind the lyrics and an essay or a poem. Vuust knows how to think the individual music projects longer than you normally do," it is stated in the nomination.

    Also the Jazz Society points out that Christian Vuust since 1991 worked as "a lecturer at the Royal Academy of Music, where many former students pointing to him as an important motivator."
