In a two-page article in Weekendavisen today 27 May Ph.D. Niels Christian Hansen tells about his research into the importance of music training and listening. 15 April Niels Christian Hansen defended his PhD thesis, which makes up with a romanticized genius concept and demonstrates that musical skill is not only an innate characteristic but is primarily a matter of training and specialization.

The article in Weekendavisen is just the latest in a long line of features in the media about Niels Christian Hansen's thesis. Even before the defense Aarhus Stiftstidende brought an article (read it here), on the very day he was in P4 Østjylland Radio and in Kristeligt Daglbad (see article), 1 May there was a big article with Niels Christian Hansen in JP Aarhus (read it here ) and 4 May he was in P1 morning Radio (hear the interview).

Niels Chr. Hansen completed his PhD studies at the Centre for Music in the Brain at Aarhus University and the Royal Academy of Music. He has bachelor's degree in classical piano and has two master's degrees, in music theory and in music cognitive neuroscience.
