• Mega grant for flute student

    Tomorrow Saturday Harbys Foundation donates for the 20th time two major grant portions (of DK-kr  125,000) to two talented academy students. This year for the violinist Gunvor Sihm, who graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, and flutist Marie Sønderskov who is a soloist class student at the Academy in Aarhus.

    At the prize concert tomorrow Saturday 28 November at 12.00 in Symphony Hall, Aarhus, Marie Sønderskov plays Erik Nordby's "Illuminations, Capriccio for Flute and Orchestra" from 1977. The piece was originally premiered by Jean-Pierre Rampal, when he received the Sonning Music Prize in 1978. Read more about the prize concert with Aarhus Symphony Orchestra here (in Danish).     Harbys Foundation is one of Denmark's biggest music funds for young artists, also known as the youth Sonning Prize. The prize is awarded to particularly talented academy students, for further development of the talent.
