• German premiere of Academy-composers

    20th of November 2015 · tags:

In 2014 three composer students from the Academy were invited to Freiburg in Germany where  Ensemble Recherche, one of Europe's leading ensembles for contemporary music belong. Along with six young composers from Zurich and Lugano each of them had been asked to write a new piece for the ensemble. At the first meeting, the first sketches was presented. In June 2015, they met again to look at the nearly finished pieces. And in September the works should be returned.

Now the three Academy composers are off again, this time to experience their pieces be premiered, which happens just today, Friday, 20 November in EnsembleHaus, the ensembles rehearsal and concert hall.

The three composers are Piotr Peszat (candidate this summer), Loïc Destremau (pt. Exchange) and Allan Gravgaard Madsen (now studying in the soloist class). Ensemble Recherche paid transport and accommodation for all participants at all three visits. "It is probably the most chic and useful workshop that I have ever been involved in," says Allan Gravgaard.
