Blood Sweat Drum + Bass big band travels to Egypt to play at one of the main concerts at Cairo Jazz Festival, 16 October. The big band was founded by conductor and Associate Professor Jens Christian "Chappe" Jensen and consists of four current and a larger group of former students from the Academy.

BSB + D's last album "On the Road to Damascus" got top reviews both at home and abroad. Here Chappe has composed and arranged a series of numbers, where the orchestra's unique sound were added spices from the Arab music - not only as ethnic music exposed to big band and electronics but as a full integration of the Middle Eastern inspiration.

At the concert in Cairo the big band plays with oud player Naseer Shamma, and the music is a further development of the music from "On the Road to Damascus".
