The Academy and Aarhus University (AU) have built up the interdisciplinary research group "Music in the Brain" with the participation of researchers from both the music world and from the world of science.

The research group's leader, bassist and research professor at the Academy Peter Vuust, received last fall DKKR 52 million for the establishment of a new research center: "Danish National Research Foundation's Centre for Music In the Brain (MIB)". The center is affiliated with AU, where Vuust also is a professor and PhD. The new research center will be officially opened on Friday 5 June.

MIB is an interdisciplinary research center, set up to investigate how the brain processes impulses from music. These studies may contribute to our understanding of the basic principles of how the brain works in general. Read more in the press release (in Danish).
