    Every second year Aarhus Vocal Festival is held in Aarhus, in 2015 from 21 to 25 May. Again this year with a distinctive touch by the Academy. The festival offers a wide variety of concerts but also workshops and coaching as well as a competition for vocal groups and choirs.

    The festival's artistic director is Professor of Rhythmic Choir Conducting at the Academy, Jim Daus Hjernø, who also takes part of the international team of instructors at the festival. Also four other lecturers and two students from the Academy are in the instructor team. In addition, a number of former students are among the instructors.

    Singing teacher at the Academy Lene Nørgaard is singing with one of the headliners at the festival, Belgian Zap Mama, and several instructors with Academy affiliation also occurs, for example, with vocal groups Touché and Postyr. A great improvisation concert Saturday evening will be led by Jim Daus and Roger Treece, who works closely with Bobby McFerrin. The choir at this concert consists mostly of students from the Academy.

    More than 700 singers from around the world have signed up to the festival's various activities. The concerts are open to all interested, several of them with free admission. Among the headliners are British Swingle Singers and Danish Vocal Line. Read more at the website.
