• Carl Prize for Academy lecturer

    Last Thursday composition lecturer at the Academy Simon Steen-Andersen got The Music Publisher Association’s composer award, the Carl Prize, for the best work for big ensemble. Steen-Andersen received the award for his piano concerto, which was premiered at Donaueschinger Musiktage in October 2014. The jury says: "This concert is original in all the best meanings of the word."

    The Carl Prize was established in 2013 and is named after Carl Nielsen. It is awarded every year in a number of categories in various genres.
