• Organ professor at jazz blind test

    9th of December 2014 · tags:

The Danish jazz magazine Jazz Special has a regular column called "blind man's buff", where an record actual artist must guess and comment on a series of jazz recordings. In the latest issue (December 2014) the columnist has chosen to place organ professor at the Academy, Ulrik Spang-Hanssen, in the listening couch. The columnist was captured by Spang-Hanssen's book, which was released this summer: "The music between the notes - swing in classical music."

It has become a larger portrait interview with the classic schooled organ professor who consistently has played Jazz as a significant nebengeschäft. His score in the quiz part also is quite sizeable, and friends of Spang-Hanssen will hardly be surprised by the special, dry humor that characterizes both the interview and quiz part of the article.
