• Nordic Council Music Prize for Steen-Andersen

    Breaking News: Simon Steen-Andersen, who teaches composition at the Academy, was last night awarded the Nordic Council Music Prize 2014 of kr. 350,000 at the price ceremony in Stockholm. It is the largest and most prestigious composers prize in the northern country’s, which is awarded every two years to a Nordic composer for a particular work. Simon Steen-Andersen received the award for his work Black Box Music.

    Only 14 days ago Steen Andersen received an award and great reviews for his new piano concerto by the famous contemporary music festival Donaueschinger Musiktage in Germany. On Sunday students from the Academy will play a concert with music by Steen Andersen (and others).
