Contemporary classical music also can be funny - even intentional, the reviewer writes in the German newspaper Südkurier in its review of the prestigious contemporary music festival Donaueschinger Musiktage last weekend. He mentions several works as example and ends with the biggest sensation: Simon Steen-Andersen's piano concerto. Also the paper Tagesspiegel highlights the humor of the piece, pointing out that it virtuously and wittily raises the question of our relations with older music forms. Also Steen-Andersen was awarded the SWR orchestra's annual music prize for his new piano concerto.

Simon Steen-Andersen teaches together with Niels Rønsholdt composition at the Academy. By a concert in Aarhus 2 November three other Academy lectures performs music by the two composition teachers.
