Research Areas

Research conducted at the academy covers a wide field ranging from music education and music analysis to research based on scientific methods. The latter has recently been brought into focus through research being carried out in collaboration with Center for Functionally Integrative Neuroscience at Aarhus University Hospital. This as well as other collaborations enhance the scope of research by allowing researchers to work outside of the traditional humanistic paradigm.

With the establishment of a PhD programme and a research school at the academy, research will be given top priority in he future in which the academy aims at playing a prominent role in international music research.
