Directions to the Aarhus Department

The Royal Academy of Music's department in Aarhus is situated in Musikhuset Aarhus (Concert Hall Aarhus) in the heart of town right next to the art museum, Aros, and Scandinavian Center.

The academy is about ten minutes walk from the main train station. By walking through the City Hall park, you will get to the Concert Hall's front. The academy is at the back in the new extension.

See Rejseplanen (the Journey Planner) for train and bus schedules.

At Park Allé, a street located 5 minutes walk from the academy, and at Banegårdspladsen (the main station square) most of the Aarhus city busses have stops. A lot of the long distance (or regional) busses also stop here, but all of them stop at the main bus station, which is situated approx. 15 minutes walk from the academy.

See Midttrafik homepage for the city bus timetables.

Aircraft and Taxi:

The Aarhus Airport lies in Tirstrup north-east of Aarhus about 45 minutes drive out of town. Shuttles go to and from the airport regularly, matching the departures and arrivals. There are always taxies at the ready at the airport.

Taxies can be hailed from the main train station in Aarhus, which is also where the airport shuttle departs from.

You can access the academy by car through Skovgaardsgade, but there is no possibility for free parking here. In stead you can park your car for a fee at Scandinavian Center's underground parking area (several entrances) right next to the academy, from where it only takes a few minutes to walk to the academy. There is also a parking area underneath the academy itself, which can be booked for payment. Entrance thorugh Skovgaardsgade.

Use the Krak homepage for driving directions to the academy (only in Danish).

The academy in Aarhus has a large bike parking area in the basement, which can be accessed from Skovgaardsgade in the north-west corner of the academy.
