Morten Skovgaard Danielsen - Roadmovie Accessories

"What interests me at the moment? Thrashing out the maximun music possible. Making the composer part of the audience again. Bringing laughter back into the concert-hall. The music back into frameworks, within which it is OK to breath freely. Once more to experience the joy of being creative. The joy and the horror..."

The works on this CD were premiered as a whole at a composer portrayal March 2001. The place of the event was The Other Opera, and alternative artistic forum in the centre of Copenhagen. The musicians all, except one, affiliated with CONTEMPORÁNEA, the visionary Danish ensemble dedicated to music using electronics under the extraordinary professional artistic direction and sound projection by Ejnar Kanding.

The composer portrayed was the 34-year old Morten Skovgaard Danielsen, - the impact unforgettable. The wealth of movements succeeded each other in a truly magical logic. Made you leave the conert-hall in a strange spleen-like mood - convinced by the romantics that music is the art closest to the soul.

The music of Morten Skovgaard Danielsen is emblematical for a whole generation of Scandinavian composers. A new and exiting generation finding pop, rock and punk as important as Stockhausen, Ligeti and Cage. A generation that without hesitation borrows from the rapid growing sight&sounds-library of music culture. But also a generation for whom phenomena like cross-over and Third Stream are outdated. Danielsen insists on himself.
